USM Haller Modular Furniture Full CGI Film
What began as a deep dive into procedural Houdini assets for modular furniture has become a full fledged CGI project envisioning USM Haller furniture.
From the first light of dawn to the quiet moments of dusk, this film invites you to explore carefully curated apartment settings. Watch as USM Haller furniture seamlessly blends into various room layouts, effortlessly adjusting to different lifestyles and needs. Each scene is an homage to the timeless aesthetic and functional design of USM, with meticulously hand-crafted models, layouts, shading and lighting.
In addition to the final film, we also crafted a set of polished images, just for the fun of it. From placing different USM Haller configurations in fully built apartment layouts, to letting the small details shine in high-end studio environments, we had a go at several scenes for this, complementing the film.
Before we could bring everything together for our USM Haller film, it was all about laying the groundwork, one step at a time. Take a look at some of the intermediate stages of our process, from building the base setup for modular furniture in Houdini and hand-crafting a majority of the assets we used, all the way to iterations of lighting, shading and overall room layouts.
